Everyone should have access to Food

Kids Against Hunger United is a 501c3 non-profit humanitarian organization with a mission to feed the hungry through food sharing, advocacy and community engagement. We provide fully nutritious food to impoverished children, individuals and families around the world and around the corner. Our goal is for our meals to provide a stable nutritional base from which recipients can move from food insecurity to self-sufficiency.

We Dream Big and Go After IT.

How we started

As a local Realtor working alongside my parents, we were looking to find a meaningful way in which we could give back to our community. Having grown up volunteering it was important to find something that families could all do together. After a lot of research hunger hit home to all of us. We wanted to ensure that everyone had access to food and that no child went to bed hungry. In August 2015 we started Kids Against Hunger United with a mission to feed the hungry through food sharing, advocacy, and community engagement. What started out in the basement of my home and 100% funded through my real estate team has grown into a wonderful organization with over 5,000 square feet of warehouse space and thousands of volunteers and donors. A portion of every commission of ours still goes to KAH United to feed local families.

We grew

What started out from the basement of my home has grown into a wonderful organization that I am so very proud of! We now have a warehouse with a little over 5,000 square feet and have packed close to 10 million meals all with the help of thousands of volunteers, many of whom have become dear friends! I am so proud of all that we have been able to accomplish. So many families have food on their tables because of all of you. I can’t wait to see how many more families we can feed with your help!

Our backpack program

From 2019 to 2021 we partnered with Philabundance to provide all of the meals for their backpack program. We packed meals 7 days week all with the help of thousands of volunteers. Each backpack was filled with 4 different meals (24 servings) which were given to local schools to ensure that each child would have adequate food for the weekend. Our backpack program provided over 5 million meals all of which stayed local.

Where we are today

I am still selling real estate full time (this helps to fund our meals) as that continues to be one of my passions. I love helping people! My amazing husband Bernie helps run our warehouse along with a wonderful team of volunteers who have taken on a leadership role within the organization. I continue to travel to sponsored packing events throughout Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, New York, New Jersey, and Virginia. If you’d like to sponsor or host an event please reach out to me anytime! In 2022 our local community food pantry closed so we decided to fill that need in our community and started a community food pantry. We started taking donation in October 2022 with a goal to officially open Martin Luther King Day weekend. In November we did a soft opening and fed 43 families Thanksgiving dinner along with meals to last the weekend while off from school. In January we officially opened and started distribution. The support from the community has been amazing!

What's next

We continue to send food to community food banks and food pantries around the world and around the corner. When we hear of a need for food, we do our best to full it. We continue shipping meals to Haiti, Africa and Ukraine and as we hear of other needs, we look for shipping partners to fill the need. We are constantly contacted by individuals and families asking for food both near and far. The need for food has grown exponentially and we continue to work to find resources and funds to meet those needs. In 2023 we opened a community food pantry and plan to continue to grow that beyond our community. In the spring of 2023, we are opening a community garden thanks to the generous support of a local Church who allowed us to use their grounds and a local Boy Scout who had agreed to take on this project for his Eagle Project. We continue to have big goals for growth and expansion within the organization including packing a million meals a month. If you or anyone you know would like to join us in our fight against hunger, please reach out to me. Individually we can’t feed everyone but imagine the difference we could make if we all agreed to JUST FEED ONE!
